Roanoke County Public Schools has been partnering with Envision Learning Partners for the past four years to develop and implement a comprehensive performance assessment system aligned with their Opportunity Ready Graduate Profile. This collaboration has fundamentally transformed how students demonstrate essential skills needed for future success in an increasingly complex world.

In this edition of Opportunity Ready, we share a wrap-up of the school year and highlight some major recognition for staff and students!

Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has named Hidden Valley High School journalism teacher Matt Neale as the 2026 Virginia Teacher of the Year.  Neale was one of eight regional teachers of the year who were finalists for the Va. Teacher of the Year Award.  Neale will now be Virginia's nominee for the 2026 National Teacher of the Year, which will be announced next spring.
