Have you restarted your computer lately?

Many simple issues can be resolved by restarting your computer. RCPS recommends that your restart your computer 1-2 times a week at a minimum.

Have you checked your Canvas Student Organization “Titan Space” for help?

All students at HVHS are enrolled in a student organization in Canvas Course called "Titan Space". Along with hosting school announcements, documents, student elections and surveys, the organization contains tutorials on how to use software and many troubleshooting announcements posted in a timely fashion. Many of the answers to questions you have can be found in Titan Space.

Student account usernames:

RCPS student computer user accounts follow the following format: First Initial -Last Name -Last 4 digits of student number
Example: Student name of Jane Doe with the last four digits of her student number 1234 would be: jdoe1234

RCPS student email accounts us the following format: jode1234@student.rcps.us
The RCPS student email system is for internal use only. Students cannot receive emails from outside the RCPS domain.

Students should check with their teachers for usernames and passwords for textbook or other instructional websites.

Troubleshooting Connecting to the RCPS VPN

In order to install textbooks and software from the software center, students need to be connected to the RCPS VPN. We are also able to provide remote support and send critical security updates to your student computer when connected are connected to the VPN. Another benefit to being connected to the RCPS VPN is automatic login to sites that require students to use their RCPS credentials to login.

These support accounts are intended to serve our students who are either online only or off campus. Students who are on campus should notify their teachers of any technical issues so that we may resolve those problems while at school.

Please keep in mind that our IT support staff works regular school hours and that requests made after hours or during the weekend may not be addressed until those hours of operation.
